Middle school students were sent off from George Washington in a ceremony last week.

The highlight of the George Washington Middle School Awards Assembly was the presentation of the Globe Award by Principal Katie Kashmanian.  The model globe is given to the recipient for three years of scholastic excellence.  This year's recipient was Julia Sullivan.

The recipients of the Principal's Award, given to students who have excelled in many areas, possess a positive attitude and make worthwhile contributions to the school community, were Katie Conklin and Megan Lucky.

Celia Padilla received the Roper Award for displaying outstanding courage in overcoming obstacles in reaching educational goals.  Julia Sullivan and Jen Martin received the Kindness Award.  The H.S.A. Citizenship awards were presented to Bridget McElroy and Claire Crowley.
