Olympic Gymnastics Can Start in Your Town Like This
International Gymnastics Competitions often have a simple start like this News Man found in his travels.
Ridgewood NJ had its share of enthusiastic gymnasts as experienced one 90 year old senior in 1969 Dom Nizza who first arrived in town in 1949.
Several years later and with four sons he wanted to introduce competitive team gymnastic to. He discovered the local HS didn't have one. So what to do, what to do?
He visited the local school and made inquires and found Mr. Napier, physical educator and accomplished gymnast, had a small "Club" of about 7-8 boys. I asked if he would like more? So, with a few phone calls to my friends in the local school sports programs, Tony Napier found himself with over 35 boys. (See photos to be posted) Tony said, "help", and I was recruited to help.
Now in 2012 many have moved on to careers in PE, coaching and teaching. Perhaps, some of our readers here can remember a few and can share their names with us.
I'll try to expand this story with some comments and News, event a list of Job openings in the Gymnastics field. Of course to include Boys and Gals.
Thanks for the video links coming, will post in the comments.

Note to Editor:
James, with Olympic sports so hot now, how about you posting a new topic page:
"What have been the Olympic Sports you have enjoyed most watching?"
Maybe even a Poll favorite would be fun.
