CLC Landscape Design of Ringwood donated a Redbud tree that was dedicated to Tom Gibson, past member and chairman of the Ridgewood, N.J. Parks, Recreation and Conservation Board (Oct. 04-09) on May 11 The tree was planted in Van Neste Square.

We are grateful for the opportunity to plant a tree for Earth Day, as well as, for Tom Gibson. The tree we planted is a Redbud (Cercis canadensis) and it is native to New Jersey. It has magenta flowers in April and distinctly heart-shaped leaves in the spring, summer, and fall. The tree matures at about 20' in height and 20' in width in about 30 years.
