Travel Back in Time and Learn About the Past at the Schoolhouse Museum

  • July 13, 2010

Looking for something interesting and fun to do with your family and friends? Come to the Schoolhouse Museum at 650 East Glen Avenue in Ridgewood to see our exhibit "Road to Revolution: Paramus Valley in the 18th Century". This exhibit closes on Sunday, July 25, so this is you last chance to see artifacts tracing Ridgewood's early years.  The exhibit explores a century of peace, war and independence through rare artifacts of the Lenape  Indians, early Dutch settlers, and the Revolutionary War soldiers. Of special interest is a letter written on September 24, 1781 by George Washington just three weeks before the British surrender at Yorktown.

The Schoolhouse Museum is a great place for children and adults to visit. We are open on Thursdays and Saturdays from 1 to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. Suggested donation: $3 for children and $5 for adults.
