Chip, Duncan and Friends Make Great Pets

0 of 0
Chip, a 4.5 year old terrier, possible Grey Hound mix, will have you smiling from ear to ear. Even though his owners were moving and couldn't take him along, Chip is still in the best of moods. Unfortunately, he has been at the shelter for more than three months, much too long to live in a kennel. Maybe he's feeling a little too good, especially if he can catapult himself out of the kennel when it's open. That is something owners will have to keep an eye on when he is brought home. If he won't jump over the fence, he may be a door dasher, so some obedience training will do him some good. This 71lb. superstar is all about the people and loves to place himself near others where he can get all the attention. Owners will have to make sure this behavior doesn't escalate into neediness, but it's all harmless at this point. Continued socialization is recommended since he is quite the social butterfly at the shelter. Along with socialization, Chip will need plenty of exercise and obedience training so he can be a better behaved companion in and out of the home. Bergen County Animal Shelter

Bryce is a domestic short hair black and white kitten available for adoption. He is up to date with routine shots.
Bugz is a female rabbit 1 year and 2 months old. She uses a litter pan. Her owner bought her at a pet store and no longer had time for the rabbit. Bugz will be spayed before leaving the shelter.
Duncan came to the shelter as a stray kitty with a cold but has recovered nicely. This live wire will entertain you with his antics he just loves to play. Duncan will be neutered before the leaving the shelter.
Mimi, a 3-year old female Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) is sweet as candy and just priceless. She is the talk amongst the shelter’s volunteers and staff. Her affection is impossible to resist and she will melt right into your lap. When Mimi first arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender she was a bit nervous and anxious for obvious reasons but since then she was definitely come out of her shell. Although she is still very hyper and still shows some anxious behaviors she loves to socialize. Owners will have to be prepared for a vivacious young dog who will need a lot of mental stimulation. Families who have experience with similar breeds are recommended. She will make a great family member but needs an active owner who can provide a “job” for her so she can settle down at the end of the day.
