The Fourth of July kicked off with a sunny start Monday morning as Glen Rock's annual Independence Day parade marched through town.
From the Middle School/High School to Municipal Hall, the parade was led by Grand Marshal Carrie Lemieux, the Glen Rock Council and the Board of Education.
At the end of the parade route, in front of Borough Hall, a group of long-time Glen Rock residents were presented with awards.
Photographer Mitsu Yasukawa was on hand to capture all the action.

I want to repeat what I said on the QA section of the Patch. I always enjoy the small town spirit of our 4th of July parade. The spirit was spoiled when some individuals took this time to express their political compaigning. WRONG!!!. Let us not forget the purpose of the holiday. To remember and honor the purpose of the holiday.

If you haven't seen these photos yet, you should. They're terrific. Even if you have seen the first great group, Amanda Stevens has just added 57 more to it.
