Glen Rock BOE Hosting Community Forum on District Issues

Parents can sound off on homework policy, staff evaluation, activity fee and more on April 18.

The Glen Rock Board of Education is hosting a community forum to hear the public's thoughts on a wealth of education issues, including the controversial activity fee and homework policy.

According to a district news release, the Community Relations Committee will take place on Thursday, April 18 at 7 p.m.

"This informal exchange will provide an opportunity for all to share their perspectives on the many new challenges and opportunities facing the school district in the coming months, including but not limited to the homework policy, the new staff evaluation procedure, the activity fee, and technological advancements under consideration," the district wrote.

"We recognize that the community, the superintendent and the BOE share a common goal of providing the students of Glen Rock with the highest quality of education that district resources will allow," Blumberg said. "We hope parents and other community members will take advantage of this opportunity to meet our dynamic, new superintendent and share questions, concerns and input with both Dr. Valenti and the representative trustees.”

The meeting will be held at Room S114 of the high school STEM wing. It's scheduled to end at 9:30 p.m.
