Police Post Sobering Warning on Outdoor Hazards

Police are urging residents to continue staying inside as live wires continue to remain scattered throughout the borough.

A possum is wrapped around an electrified wire in Glen Rock, lifeless.

The image highlights the dangers residents still face if they choose to venture outside, particularly at night.

"This is why we are stressing safety," the Glen Rock Police Department said in a statement. "Many of the downed power lines are still live and very dangerous."

The police urged children to stay inside, further stressing tht anyone outside should not ignore police tape or barriers. That includes pedestrians and drivers.

"A group of children were seen walking near where this animal was electrocuted this afternoon," police said. "There are still many hazardous areas throughout town, please abide by police instructions for your own safety."

What's the possum caption? "We're not playing. This could be you."
