Glen Rock Students Credited for Missed Lunches
Three December lunches will be credited for all students in Glen Rock following Sandy-related school closures.
Parents who paid for lunches that were not served due to Sandy-related school closures won't have to worry about three meals in December, Glen Rock Interim Superintendent Ray Albano announced last week.
Per the chief school administrator, it would be "quite a challenge" to accurately tabulate who paid for what lunches when schools were closed for the eight days in late October and early November. Since most parents pay for three lunches in advance, it seemed only fair to reimburse three days to all students in December, Albano said.
"If parents can show they paid more than that, we'd [resolve it] on an individual basis," he said.
According to Albano, when schools reopened on Thursday no child went without a meal.
