Gazelle Owners Hang Up the Aprons
New ownership to take over at the upscale eatery at 11 Godwin Avenue.
After eight years of receiving high marks from diners, owners Jim Miceli and Ron Norrell have sold Gazelle Cafe and Grille.
The pair took out an ad in last week's Ridgewood News to thank staff and customers for their support over the years.
"Now it's time for us to have a break and take a look at what we would like to do next," they wrote. "We have decided to pass the baton to a new group of owners. We hope that you will give them the same consideration and welcome that you gave to us. We know that they will be held to a high standard."
Attempts to reach Miceli and Norrell Monday night were not successful. It's not clear what concept the new owners have in mind or when they'll open up.

We will miss jim and Ron. Probably our favorite place in Ridgewood for delicious, healthy dining. Our friends will all miss it and them too. Good luck and enjoy the respite and next chapter! Elizabeth and Larry and Amanda and Greg Resnick

I'm not crazy about the tone of the headline. This was a stylish, lovely restaurant that thrived for years against the intensely competitive backdrop of the Ridgewood restaurant scene. They didn't 'hang up their aprons' in defeat; they've moved on to bigger and better things, I'm sure.

Who wrote anything about defeat?

no one said defeat- just that they are "hanging up the aprons"- you read way to much into it- this was an excellent restaurant that a lot of people are sad to see leave-

Now I need to detox. This was great stuff! Where can I go for that after the wonderful food, service, and the fact that they're just a couple of nice guys. Sad to see it go but hope to be informed on their new venture!

A special thanks to Jim, Ron, Melanie and Rachel. You guys provided us with a lot of years of great food, fond memories and much fun. We'll miss YOU, just as much as we'll miss your warm and welcoming restaurant. We wish you all the best.
