This worker from Masago Sushi on S. Broad St. in Ridgewood had the same idea as Patch – snap a photo of the split sky in Ridgewood moments before the downpour.

A split light-dark sky wasn't observed just on Thursday night. At around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Marshall Bronfin captured this photo of storm clouds behind Ridgewood Village Hall.
Marshall Bronfin captured a black grouping of clouds approaching Ridgewood Village Hall on the morning of July 26, 2012.

The forecast called for damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain and lightning. But outside of a little rain, a lot of thunder and bolt or two of lightning, there wasn't much damage to be found in Ridgewood or Glen Rock on Thursday night.

No reports of flooding were received and police attended to few motor vehicle accidents. PSE&G's outage map reported between 1-500 homes without power Thursday night. Glen Rock residents did not lose electricity, according to the map. Hail? It thankfully never arrived, nor did the projected 58-70 mph winds.

So while the storm didn't live up to the expectations, it did offer some great opportunities for photos. If you have a photo to share, please add!
