Ridgewood Man Charged with Lewdness at Lemonade Stand

A 46-year-old Ridgewood man is facing lewdness charges for attempting to in Glen Rock before fleeing when confronted by an adult, police said.

Three girls under the age of 13 were selling lemonade at the corner of Harristown and Highland roads when at around 3:15 p.m. a man in a white Toyota Siena approached them, according to Glen Rock Police Department Det. James Calaski 

Sean Malone, 46, of Prospect Street in Ridgewood, "argued with the girls for not using 'recyclable cups' and asked that they come to his vehicle so that he could use his own metal cup," Calaski said.

A woman supervising the girls was reportedly disturbed by the suspect's tone, approached the vehicle and "noticed his genitals were exposed," police claim.

A witness quickly moved the girls away from the suspect, who fled the scene.

Armed with a description of the suspect's vehicle and registration provided by a witness, police were able to track Malone to his Ridgewood home at around 11 p.m., according to Calaski.

Ridgewood police assisted in the arrest. Charged with lewdness, a fourth degree crime, Malone was remanded to Bergen County Jail on $10,000 bail, with no 10 percent option.
