Just as an FYI: I deleted more than a dozen comments that aren't related to what matters here – a man lost his life. I've also updated the story to include information on who the deceased is.

Mr Kleiman: What did you have to delete?
I was a classmate/football teammate of George's. Salt of the Earth guy. Never met anyone better in 40 years. We couldn't wipe the smile of his face; tried many times.

Thanks Mr. Kleiman. Sometimes the level of incivility is astounding, disappointing and downright ugly and mean spirited. What a tragedy...

The comments were not about Mr Swan they were about the picture of the police car in the picture nothing to do with the accident or Mr Swan.

George was one of the nicest men my family encountered during our time at RHS Lacrosse. He always knew when someone's child was hurting and had a kind word to say to try to make the parents and son always feel better. A true leader in our opinion, and yes our family will always remember his smile.

We love you Dad. You were the best father ever. You were the kindest, sweetest, most loving, truly genuine and selfless man I've ever known. As our cousin Meg said, "you were the kind of man you could love deeply upon meeting." We will miss your big smile, your enthusiasm, your huge heart, and the way you made us laugh. There is not a day that went by that we didn't feel your love and support, you went above and beyond in everything you did. Love you Dad. Life will never be the same without you.

"No matter how brave we think we are, or think we can be, we must call sorrow by it's right name and see It for what it is. Only then can we avail ourselves of the treasure that is hidden in the folds of its dark cloak. I think that we should not, by any twist of the words we use, minimize what we are going through, what anyone goes through, when death enters upon life and removes a member of our circle, family-close or friendship wide. There will be time enough to ponder the event, to philosophize about it, to discover its significance. Now the bleak fact stands; a light has gone out, wherever it may be shining, it is here no longer." Elizabeth Yates in, Up the Golden Stair. May the love of family and friends help you to heal. Kathy, I am just now hearing about this and I am so sorry. I remember George from EFA football with my brother, and of course, you from our playground supervisors and our time at Answerphone. You have crossed my mind many times, and I have looked for you on Facebook. I am saddened to find you in this way. Everyone talks about George's smile, and I remember that too. But I also remember you, as one of the sweetest, most beautiful girls I've ever met and I hate that this has happened to you and your family.
