Ken Youner and his cycling partner Jim Flax recently stopped at the Ridgewood Cycle Shop to promote the "Spokes of Hope" bicycle tour scheduled for October. John Mills, manager of the Ridgewood Cycle Shop, offered some valuable suggestions for cyclists planning to participate in this tour.

Message from Dr. Youner-
Finally we have a date that all 3 hospitals agree upon Sunday Oct 10, 2010. There is much to do and I need a lot of help. I will going to Germany for a kidney cancer conference meeting Sept 8-12 and then down to Houston for treatment Sept 20-25. So we have to work fast. I will be using Active.com for ride registration. I plan on charging a registration fee-100% will go directly to the CKYFCR as the beneficiary of the ride. This is be a joint fund raising effort-as the fundraising goals of CKYFCR and ACKC are the same-raise money for kidney cancer research. I will use the CKYFCR website, my Facebook page, the ACKC Facebook page and hopefully the ACKC website to promote the ride. Cycling jerseys custom made for the ride will be for sale. My plan is to underwrite the costs of the jerseys myself-as I did last year-so that all money can go to kidney cancer research.
I would like you to share you ideas with me and help implement them.

Please brain storm and come up with good ideas-and please once we are ready to-share the SOH story with everyone you know.
