Two Hospitalized After Crash on Linwood and Paramus
Jaws of life needed to extricate woman alleged to have sped through a red light Tuesday morning.
Two people were taken to Valley Hospital Tuesday morning after a driver sped through a red light and was struck at the intersection of Linwood and Paramus avenues, Ridgewood police said.
Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward said that according to witnesses, a blue Honda traveling west on Linwood Avenue sped through the red light and struck a second vehicle traveling north on Paramus Road.
Because of the extensive damage to the driver’s side door, the Honda's driver had to be rescued by emergency personnel with the jaws of life.
Both occupants of the vehicle alleged to have run the red light were taken to Valley Hospital with what police say did not appear to be life-threatening or serious injuries.
The driver of the Honda was issued a summons for failure to stop at a light, Ward said.
