The village council is on track to pass a resolution giving the go-ahead to repave both sections of busy Van Dien Avenue in the spring.
Depending on capital funds available and grant money, North and South Van Dien could be repaved as early as April, Village Manager Ken Gabbert said.
Ridgewood has applied for a $150,000 state DOT grant, according to Village Engineer Chris Rutishauser. It's still unclear how much, if any, would be funded, he said.

Hold on a minute. What ever happened to Albert, Maxwell, and James? They were on the last three streets to appear on the street paving list, but would only be done if funds were available (and they weren't). Why does S. Van Dien now jump to the top?

James - why are using an old pic? That building was torn down a few years ago and new houses built there. Is it that hard to take some snaps of Van Dien to show if that avenue is or is not worthy of a re-pave?

The photo isn't even of Van Dien, it's Spring just east of Van Dien.

If you want to get picky, that's actually Spring Street in picture. Van Dien is the cross street where the car is.

What happened to the streets that were 'on the list' then 'disappeard' from the list, such as Wastena and surrounding streets?

What about Barnett?? They have been promising me new paving for years now. I've lived on Barnett for 38 years and it has been " slurry coated once" Come on now!

Do we know how Van Dien jumped up to the top of the list?

They should widen the intersections between Glen and Linwood and put in left turn lanes. There should be some way to get a few feet of land from Valley and BF near the intersections in order to get it done.
