Wednesday: Two Film Showings in the Village

Some will like it hot in Van Neste today while others will cool off inside with a showing of "Made in Dagenham" at the library

1) The library will host a World Cinema screening of the film "Made in Dagenham" tonight at 7:00 p.m. The story of a 1968 strike protesting sexual discrimination against female workers at the Ford Dagenham plant will be followed with discussion, led by library director Nancy Greene.

2) The Ridgewood Guild will show "Some Like it Hot" in Van Neste Square tonight at 8:00 p.m., as part of its Movies in the Park series. Head over the watch the Marilyn Monroe classic in this unique community gathering.

3) The Ridgewood Planning Board welcomed its final member Tuesday night, swearing in Alternate #2 Cyril Grant. The board has shifted some last month.

Registration begins August 8 at 8:30 a.m.

5) The blazing weather persists today, with temperatures at 91 degrees and the very high UV index at 9. There won’t be any clouds to provide relief, so be sure to wear sunscreen and stay in the shade.
