Willard School Accepts National Education Distinction
Willard Elementary School Principal Marianne Williams ventured down to Washington, D.C. to pick up a National Blue Ribbon School award.
Of over 10,000 eligible schools, Ridgewood's Willard Elementary School was one of only 269 to receive recognition this year as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
School principal Marianne Williams and teacher Leigh Porad -- who was instrumental in crafting the application -- picked up the prestigious award in Washington, D.C.
"We are all thrilled to receive this recognition," Williams previously told Patch. "This award is an affirmation of the work we have all done at Willard School – teachers, students, and parents – to create programs and an environment that meets the needs of all learners."
