Woman Struck by SUV in Front of Valley Hospital

Victim was crossing street with son when hit; son uninjured

A woman crossing the street in front of Valley Hospital at Van Dien and Linwood was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon, police confirmed.

Police Chief John Ward, who responded to the scene and tended to the victim, said a woman was struck while crossing the street with her son around 3:00 p.m. She complained of pain and had suffered a head injury. She was conscious and alert, however.

The victim was transported to nearby Valley Hospital. Her son, who was uninjured, was picked up by his father, Ward said. The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons in the strike.
