The Bicycle Touring Club of North Jersey has once again shown its generosity to the men and women of New Jersey who are defending our country overseas.
Alan Krutchkoff, the man in charge of the Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon, was thrilled to learn of the club's continued generosity. He will accept the donation on Sept. 13 at the Ridgewood Library.
An additional check of $2,750 will be presented to Bergen Community College on behalf of The Bicycle Touring Club of North Jersey. The money came from registration fees at the annual Bergen County Bicycle Tour held June 3 and will go to support our NJ Warriors in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The ultimate recipients of this gift will be over 100 NJ Soldiers in Southern Afghanistan and soon a large number of MPs from the Teaneck Armory who will be deployed to Afghanistan in the near future.
The Bergen County Bicycle Tour had a record number of 670+ participants of all ages and skill levels. This event has rides of 45, 25, 12 and 5 miles and also included a lunch and some bicycle related prizes.
The 2013 Bergen County Bicycle Tour will be held on Sunday, June 2nd. Come on out and support the troops and get some exercise. You can make a difference. Morale is the key to keeping our troops safe.
