FRIDAY:
Make it and Take it at Michaels! What better way to show that special Aunt, Grandma, or Mom that you care then with a hand decorated frame by your artists. Stop by Michaels and let their craft experts guide your kids in making the perfect gift. Michael's will supply all the paint, glitter, and glue you just have to pay for the frame. Insert a photo of your little darlings and you have created a special Mothers Day Gift! Perfect for kids age 3 and up.

If you couldn't make Fridays event or if your kids are feeling crafty the Mothers Day crafts continue with a Butterfly Card Make It and Take it Event at Michaels. Your kids can't put their personal touch on these adorable Mothers Day Cards. FREE
Home Depot host a hands-on Kid's Workshop on the first Saturday of each month. Kids ages 5-12 are invited to participate in these FREE workshops where they will learn do-it-yourself skills, as well as tool safety, work ethic, and a sense of accomplishment. They get to keep their finished product and will receive a Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin, and a certificate of achievement. This months project is building a planter box and adding colorful plants.
SUNDAY: Teterboro Airport is hosting Open Cockpit Day! Held four times a year, the museum opens the cockpits of many of the museum airplanes, helicopters and a fire truck. Visitors experience real 'hands on' cockpit understanding. They learn more about how pilots fly andwhat the controls and instrumentations do. Pilots and guides are on hand to answer any questions. Bring the family for a fun day on the runway.
Join the “Springtide” celebration. Festivities will take place all throughout the day rain or shine. They include activities and games lead by staff and volunteers dressed in nineteenth century garb, as well as crafts, and period music. Don’t miss the genuine, nineteenth-century style fish bake done over an open fire. Free sampler plates of the baked fish will be served at 2:00 PM. New this year to the event is the opportunity to join in an old-fashioned barn dance hosted by the New York City Barn Dance Company. Stop by the Pavilion for a twirl anytime between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. All events take place at and around the historic picnic pavilion at Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area (Alpine entrance/PIP Exit 2) and, the best part, they are FREE! Refreshments will be available for purchase all afternoon, or feel free to pack a picnic lunch! What a great way to celebrate Spring and spend a fun-filled day with your family!
