Following my blog from Tuesday morning, but prior to PSEG's knowledge of my situation, I was visited by Guy Vogt, PSE&G's Divisional Forestry Supervisor. Guy pleasantly responded to my complaint regarding Asplungh (sp) tree service cutting my trees without notice.
Guy was terrific, he managed my anger and explained how he understood my frustration and explained in greater detail his responsibility. His job, as he put it, is to find a balance in maintaining aesthetic value and electric viability.
After I had a chance to "vent" about the fact that half of my anger was because no one had informed me of this work to be done on my property – nor that I had any input – he explained his conundrum. A conundrum that is clearly defined in his current job mission.
While I still believe we are all overreacting and that Ridgewood really needs to develop a reasonable tree program to preserve its enviable landscape, it became evident that Guy was my best friend in this situation.
He worked hard to respect my wishes and do his job. With that said, may I suggest if you find yourself in the same situation as i found myself in yesterday, you don't call PSE&G, you don't call the town..... you call Guy. He is your best path to a "common sense" solution.
He has the respect and authority to negotiate a fair outcome between your wishes and societies needs.
Guy can be reached directly at 201 330 6657. Unfortunately, Guy can't be everywhere all the time so if you see the potential of this problem at your home, make the initiative and call Guy. I think you will like him personally to boot.
Thanks, Guy.
Regards, Greg

....why are you saying "we" when addressing an over reaction?
Why is Guy The one to "manage" your anger?
That's what professionals are for and as evidenced by your blathering diatribes
You need it....poor guy....can't you see he was just placating you and moving on ?
Please.....
