Chamber Musicians to Perform Bach, Haydn in 40th Anniversary Season

The Leonia Chamber Musicians continues its 40th season celebration with the second concert of its three part series on February 9, 2014, 4 p.m., at Leonia High School, 100 Christie Heights Street, in Leonia, New Jersey.  The family-friendly event will feature members of the Leonia Chamber Musicians as soloists in the Bach Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 and the Haydn Sinfonia Concertante, joined by the Leonia High School Student Orchestra.  The event is open to the public.

“The borough of Leonia has a long history of supporting the arts, providing the ideal location to introduce a new generation and their families, as well as the larger community to chamber music.  This 40th anniversary concert will provide youngsters, their families, and the community with the opportunity to experience chamber music as performers and as members of the audience,” said Daryl Goldberg, President, Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc.

The Bach Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 will kick-off the concert, featuring soloists Edward Brewer, harpsichord; Theresa Norris and Melanie Bradford, flutes; and Roy Lewis, violin, with Daryl Goldberg, cello and Patricia Dougherty, bass, continuo players.  Soloists Marsha Heller, oboe; William J. Scribner, bassoon; Roy Lewis, violin; and Daryl Goldberg, cello will perform the Haydn Sinfonia Concertante.  The Chamber Musicians will be joined by guest artists Laura-Lindsay Sewell, violin; Jack Rosenberg, viola; Michelle Baker and Lauren Hosford, French horns.

The concert is open to the public.  Tickets at the door are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors over 65, and students under 18 are admitted free.  Refreshments will be served after the concert, and the audience will have an opportunity to meet and greet the musicians.
