Dump Scott Garrett

Folks --It's time to retire extremist rightwinger Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ5)) from Congress. Bill Maher has announced an effort to "flip a district" from Republican to Democrat. Here's how it works: INSTRUCTIONS ON TWEETING AND POSTING TO FACEBOOK FOR FLIP A DISTRICT:

How to Tweet
• Tweet directly to Bill by starting the tweet with .@billmaher. Please note that the
period before the “@” is important.
• Your tweet also MUST absolutely include the “hashtags” #flipadistrict and #NJ5. If you do not know what a hashtag is, don’t worry, simply copy and paste #flipadistrict and #NJ5 exactly as written here and put it anywhere in your tweet.
• Here is a sample tweet: .@billmaher Come home to #NJ5 & #flipadistrict to defeat Tea Party poster boy Scott Garrett! Dem nominee to be @RoyCho5 can beat him!
• The content is up to you, although below we include some suggestions. Be sure to mention Garrett’s name.
• Keep in mind, a tweet can only be 140 characters. This includes spaces and punctuation, so please keep your ideas short and to the point. Humor will help get our message across as well.

How to Post on Facebook
Posting on Facebook is easy. Type or paste your message in the “Update Status” box at the top of your Facebook page. Be sure to include #flipadistrict and #NJ5 in your message. Then click the button reading “Post” and you are done.

Below is a sample Facebook message you can copy and use (or write your own):
Scott Garrett (#NJ5) is the perfect target for #flipadistrict!
Garrett is the original Tea Party poster boy, an out of touch radical extremist. As a result of recent redistricting, the 5th CD is now competitive and Democratic nominee to be Roy Cho can win! #JohnBirchTeaParty #CueTheTrainedMonkeyBoy
