Glen Rock Students Beautify Train Station Interior, Report Says

Eagle Scout project will aid the Glen Rock Historical Society.

A Glen Rock senior and a few friends have taken it upon themselves to turn the craggy interior of the Main Line train station into a clean space to house the Glen Rock Historical Society.

The project is the brainchild of Dan Stein, who has proposed renovating the office as part of his Eagle Scout project, according to a report in the Glen Rock Gazette.

Stein and two friends – with borough-bought materials – are expected to complete the renovation in March, the report said.

Just to clarify, Dan has a whole crew of fellow scouts and friends helping him with this project.

An Eagle project is something that takes months of planning from its inception to execution. The scout has to present the project to a committee for approval, get financial backing for materials, have a plan of action, involve the troop, families in the troop and friends and direct the entire operation. He must also earn 21 merit badges before he can start his Eagle. It also has to be a project that benefits the community. Its a great management experience.
