Ridgewood Hospital recently hosted its 17th annual Teddy Bear Party.

Valley Home Care recently held its 17th annual Teddy Bear Party, which welcomed parents and siblings of children cared for through The Valley Hospital, Valley Home Care, or Valley Hospice.  This year’s party was held at the Boys and Girls Club of Hawthorne.

The party began as the inspiration of Wyckoff resident Mary Pat Boron, who donated her extensive collection of collectible teddy bears for the first event – held in 1996 – in memory of her mother.  The party was dedicated to the memory of Boron’s mother, Patricia A Grant.

This year’s event had a “Wonderful World of Disney” theme and included games, crafts, face painting, goodie bags, and photo opportunities with Disney characters and Valley Home Care’s own Beary Special Bear.

The Teddy Bear Party is sponsored by the Sean Caton Memorial Foundation.  The Foundation was developed to aid charitable causes to honor Glen Rock resident, Christopher Sean Caton, who was killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

There were 340 guests and 140 teddy bears who attended the party.
