Be careful before you let your kids play in large snow piles left at Graydon pool and in other areas of Ridgewood.
That was the message from acting village manager Heather Mailander in a recent note to resident posted on the school district website.
"The accumulation of the past snow storms has formed giant piles of snow at Graydon Pool parking lot and in other areas throughout the village," the note said.
"The piles are potentially exciting places for children to play, not realizing the potential danger. As the temperatures change and at some point warm up, the snow can shift and the inner structure compacts to trap anyone climbing on the piles."
Mailander recommended parents discuss the potential dangers with their children.
