Filmmaker Bringing 'Bad Parents' Back to Ridgewood

Screenings on four separate nights in January.

Ridgewood's own Caytha Jentis is bringing her comedy "Bad Parents" – based loosely on her experiences as a soccer mom in the area – to the village's Warner theater.

The satire – starring Jeanine Garofalo, Christopher titus, Cheri OTeri and others – chronicles a group of intense parents on a U-8 soccer club.

A special red carpet event will be held on Jan. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Warner Theater on E. Ridgewood Ave.

Scheduled to appear are Reiko Aylesworth from Bad Parents (also Hawaii 5-0, 24), Emmy-winning actress/producer Martha Byrne, Jaqueline Madden (of VH1), Liz Gaspari of the sports nutrition industry and other special guests. Moxie Salon is sponsoring the opening night.

An edited, children's appropriate version will be shown on Jan. 24 at 5 p.m.

The other screenings will be held on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. Ticket holders of each screening are invited back to Park West Tavern for meets-and-greets and drink discounts.

Tickets are $12 for each of the 7 p.m. showings; kids pay $8 for the children's show and adults $10.

Many of the crew are from Ridgewood, including producer Dorothy Fucito, line producer Aimee Denaro, director of photography Anthony Savini, and editor Verne Mattson.
