The Ridgewood surf rock band Real Estate has announced the release of their third studio album Atlas. The highly anticipated-follow up to their 2011 album Days is set to drop March 4 via Domino Records.
The album includes 10 of 19 tracks that the outfit recorded at Wilco’s Chicago studio The Loft. Included on this record are two new full-time members, Jackson Pollis (drums) and Matt Kallman (keyboard).
As a teaser, Real Estate has released a music video of the lead single on Atlas “Talking Backwards.” The song reflects much of their penchant for dreamy guitar solos and soft vocals that haven’t gone anywhere since their last two records. The song floats in a sunny dreamlike space, perfect for a ride to the Jersey Shore.
If the new album makes you a Real Estate fan, you’ll be happy to hear that in addition to the album, the band has also announced plans for an extensive North American tour, which is set to begin in San Francisco in late February, and will arrive in New York on April 5.
