Ridgewood dance company Art of Motion makes its debut in the Booking Dance Festival Friday night at Lincoln Center.

The company was one of 22 selected for the prestigious festival sponsored by the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, a nonprofit representing artists nationwide.

Art of Motion’s professional troupe will present excerpts from its original show “Heaven and Earth,” described by artistic director and founder Lynn Needle as a fusion of dance styles from jazz and Broadway to acrobatics and classical techniques.

The company, which has a studio offering both professional and youth training, was “discovered” at a showcase last year in New York, prompting their invitation back to the larger Lincoln Center stage.
