Biz Beat: New Dining Options in Ridgewood, Glen Rock

Lisa, Raymond and Marc are bringing culinary excitement to Ridgewood and Glen Rock.

The winter thaw hasn't kept a few merchants in Ridgewood and Glen Rock from opening up to the public with hot eats.

Much lauded Marc's Cheesecakes in Glen Rock opened the doors last week. Nestled by the train tracks at 251 Rock Road, Marc Silverberg offers rich specialty cakes chock full of fresh ingredients. You can count on slices, smaller desserts and coffee as well.

Construction didn't quite go as planned on Oak Street, but Lisa Mayisoglu has finally re-opened Lisa's Turkish Kitchen after moving from Chestnut Street over the summer. What used to be an awkward, clumsy and off-putting space is now level, organized and gorgeous.

The fundamentals of the menu – fresh Mediterranean food – will largely remain. Stop by at 28 Oak Street and give it a shot.

Finally, the word is out that Raymond's french toast has arrived. The other new addition to Oak Street in Ridgewood has been mobbed since opening a few Mondays ago.

We'll have a larger feature on how the move from Montclair has gone with a bit on new additions diners can look forward to over the next few months.

, is also expected to open in a few weeks at the Playhouse Theater.

Marc's Cheesecake is beyond awesome. We brought a cheesecake to a party on Sunday, along with a couple of Marc's wonderful brownies with Belgian chocolate, and everyone loved his work. Thank you, Marc! We'll be back.

Glad to see Lisa back and hopefully she will be a success at the new location. She is a Ridgewood resident and does a lot to support the Town. If you have never tried Lisa's or any Turkish cuisine, do yourself a favor and get over there. Some of her dishes are superb.

Couldn't agree more! The Moroccan Veggie burger and omelet were absolutely delicious, as were the homefries, wholegrain toast, and shoestring fries which accompanied our meals. So thrilled to have Raymond's in such a prominent spot downtown!

We love Lisa's food. We have been waiting eagerly for her to open up again. In fact, we catered from her new restaurant for Christmas lunch. Everything was delicious. Looking forward to visiting her new location soon.
