Black Friday Rush Hits Garden State Plaza

Lines were the longest at Best Buy, H&M and Urban Outfitters at GSP in Paramus.

Despite Blue Laws restrictions that prevented Garden State Plaza from opening before 7 a.m., groggy shoppers gathered at the mall before dawn, most of them waiting for big ticket electronics at Best Buy.

Customers waiting for door-buster deals on flat screen televisions and laptops showed up as early as 4 a.m., bundled in scarves and hats and gripping coffee cups.

Best Buy had the longest lines, followed by H&M and Urban Outfitters, where a manager stood guard and let groups of people in at a time.

The rest of the mall was busy, but lines were managable and moved quickly throughout the morning.

B@B many of us small local business owners depend on people going out and buying stuff they don't need.

GS Plaza Mall is a blight on the area. Thank goodness for the blue law, it should be on Saturday too!
