The grand opening of the wine and spirits store is May 2.

The following was submitted to Patch by King's Food Markets.

Kings Food Markets unveils its newly inspired store in Ridgewood, featuring a brand new wine and spirits store, with a weekend-long tasting event for the community, beginning Friday, May 2.

Customers will have an opportunity to experience the new store features and exclusive tastings, while learning about the best pairings from Kings’ talented wine and spirits team led by John Coleman, wine, cheese and specialty food expert with over 20 years of experience.

With over 600 wines, 250 liquors and a variety of local and craft beers, customers will now have the opportunity to select unique combinations of wines and the best fresh foods all under one roof.  Kings will also be giving away three culinary baskets to three lucky winners, which will include recommended beer, wine and liquor pairings to celebrate its new offerings, as part of a special event giveaway.

The event kicks off on Friday, May 2 beginning at 11:30 a.m. with a sabering of champagne in honor of its wine and spirits store as well as Kings’ signature pasta-ribbon cutting ceremony, including special remarks from Ridgewood Mayor Paul Aronsohn, President & CEO Judy Spires, COO Rich Durante and Store Manager Vince Gramuglia.

Following the opening ceremonies, shoppers attending the event will have the luxury of tasting their way through the store with samplings from all of Kings’ departments, including D’Artagnan’s flavorful Serrano Ham; Pineland Farm’s delicious, home-style mashed potatoes; and Kings’ fresh seafood paired with our exclusive wine options, such as shellfish paired with the sweet grape of Muscadet and salmon paired with Zinfandel. Kings will also be sampling a variety of sweet treats including Kings’ Pina Colada Pie and White Chocolate Mousse Cake.  Every day, however, customers can choose from the highest quality meats, freshest produce, “top of the catch” seafood, assortment of organic and gluten-free options and unique finds for which Kings Food Markets is known.

Kings will also kick off a one week food drive, beginning Saturday, May 3, collecting food supplies and other products for the Ridgewood Social Service Association’s Food Pantry.

As part of the grand reopening activities, on Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, customers can also receive complimentary in-store consultations from nutritionist Deborah Orlick Levy, MS, RD - an expert in the field of nutrition with over 18 years of experience in adult and pediatric nutrition and weight management - and have an opportunity to participate in Kings’ in-store contest and giveaway.
