Ridgewood is set to add another storefront to its expanding local fashion scene.
Jeanna Palumbo, owner of the soon-to-open Alba Boutique, hopes that her new shop will work with similar nearby stores like Gypsy Warrior and Savvy Chic to make downtown Ridgewood a shopping destination.“It’s such a charming little town, and I think this store will complement what’s already here,” she told Patch while at work renovating the Broad Street storefront last week.
Though Alba will be Palumbo's first store, she comes to the project with seven years in the industry, working in the corporate offices of major department stores as well as smaller retail outfits. She left a gig as a general manager and buyer for three Hoboken boutiques three weeks ago, and has since been racing toward a grand opening.
Alba will cater to “twenty-somethings and trendy moms,” Palumbo said, offering everything to fill out a wardrobe: dresses and blouses as well as shoes, jewelry and handbags.
The store will occupy the space vacated by Ridgewood Aquarium Imports earlier this summer.
Check out Alba at its grand opening this Saturday, Sept. 7.
