'Eclectic' Ridgewood Eatery Aiming for October Opening

Mémoire will have a rotating seasonal menu.

A new vacancy on Chestnut Street won’t last long.

Tre Voci closed its doors after a four-year run in the village last month, telling customers that the owner wanted to move on to other things. New restaurant mémoire was already waiting in the wings, planning an October opening in the location.

Restaurateur Thomas Finelli told Patch that the restaurant will feature an “eclectic, seasonal” menu, changing its offerings multiple times a year and cooking up new dining options each month.

“We will be original in the sense that we offer fine dining in a casual atmosphere and at an affordable price,” he said.

Finelli’s TAF Restaurant and Hospitality Group manages Jimmy’s in Nanuet, a causal American restaurant, and owns Tastings, a catering and personal chef business that serves the tri-state area.

Finelli said the eclecticism of mémoire’s menu will come from a fusion of American and European dishes, and gave an example of what a customer might see on the menu: to start, an appetizer of baby beet salad, topped with candied walnuts, goat cheese and drizzled with a walnut vinaigrette; for the entree, pan-seared duck with a black cherry reduction and roasted pearl barley.

“We’re trying to bring a new kind of experience to Ridgewood,” Finelli said. “When somebody leaves we want them to have a memorable experience.”
