Valley Ranks #30 on List of Best NYC-Area Hospitals

Valley did, however, rank below HUMC, Holy Name and St. Joseph's in U.S. News and World Report's rankings of the top NYC metro area hospitals.

Valley Hospital has been named the 30th best hospital in the metropolitan New York City area in the annual U.S. News and World Report rankings and 13th best in New Jersey.

The publication largely based its rankings on patient survival and safety data, nurse staffing levels and data in 16 adult specialties.

Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) was the highest ranked hospital in New Jersey, placing third in the rankings. Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck ranked 19th, and Valley Hospital tied with Englewood Hospital for #30 in the greater NYC region.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of the best hospitals in our region,” Audrey Meyers, CEO of Valley Hospital said in a statement. “This would not be possible without the relentless dedication, expertise and commitment to clinical quality and patient satisfaction of our entire staff, physicians and volunteers.”

Valley garnered high marks in urology, orthopedics, gynecology, geriatrics, gastroenterology and GI surgery. It was not ranked in cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; diabetes and endocrinology; ear, nose and throat; nephrology; neurology and neurosurgery; ophthalmology; and pulmonology.

The Ridgewood hospital also ranked well on patient satisfaction surveys, according to the report.
