Ridgewood High Dancers to Perform at Paramus Park Mall

Part of a collaborative show with Paramus dancers to raise awareness of mental illness.

The Ridgewood High School Dance Company will join dancers from Paramus to perform an original work at the Paramus Park Mall Saturday afternoon.

The show is a collaborative effort with dancers from Paramus High School as well as Mariann's School of Dance and Center State Dance Studio, both located in Paramus. The program is part of the borough's "Stigma-Free Zone" campaign to raise awareness of mental illness.

RHS dance teacher Jennifer Landa lead choreography of the day's program, called "Let's Help."

"As an artist and teacher, I truly believe in advocacy through the arts and see this is as a natural way to address issues within our community," said Landa, a Paramus resident.

"It has been wonderful to see the dancers and teachers here in Paramus collaborate and have the opportunity to share their work, their thoughts and their feelings on the issue."

The dancers are scheduled to perform three times Saturday afternoon, with shows at 2, 2:30 and 3 p.m.
