Brennan, Martin to Tangle with O'Hagan, Surrago in Glen Rock Council Race

Democrats received enough write-in votes to be placed on the November ballot for two seats, currently occupied by Republicans.

It's official – Sean Brennan and Amy Martin will be battling Michael O'Hagan and Mary Jane Surrago for two council seats in November.

Brennan and Martin were write-in candidates on the Democratic ticket for the primary election, having announced their intent to run only last month. Martin scored 85 write-in votes and Brennan had 82, passing the 13 vote threshold to be on the ballot in November.

Republicans O'Hagan and Surrago received 264 and 266 votes, respectively.

The entire seven-member borough council is comprised of Republicans. Mayor John van Keuren is also a Republican.
