The Borough of Glen Rock for the first time since the attacks of September 11th, 2001 will not be holding a formal anniversary remembrance ceremony.
"For this reason we strive each year to avoid repetitive institutionalization of our commemoration," he told the paper, later saying, "This year the trustees begin a transition toward empowering you, the citizens of town, to observe a more personal commemorative experience. You will see when you visit the memorial site that day that we have not left the story untold, lest the lessons be forgotten."
Ridgewood will be having a more subdued formal remembrance ceremony on Tuesday, with Mayor Paul Aronsohn reading the proclamation at Mt. Carmel Church. An exhibit will also be displayed at the library throughout September.
