Help Choose the Borough's 4th of July Parade Theme

Planning is underway for the upcoming summer tradition

You could help determine the theme of the borough's 74th annual 4th of July Parade on Tuesday night.

The Glen Rock Independence Day Association is looking for the community to provide valuable input in helping determine what the upcoming parade will look like. The all-volunteer committee will be meeting in Borough Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Retired Glen Rock football coach Al Deatt will be presenting a slide show of past parades from the '40s, 60s, 70s, 90s, as well as the 2011 parade. (Check out some of the photos above.)

The committee says it's looking for more people to help it with judging, gathering donations of prizes for the raffle, developing the printing and mailing of the raffle tickets, maintaining the Facebook page, collaborating with other organizations like the Ridgewood Fourth of July Parade.

If you have pictures, videos or slides from previous parades, the committee hopes you're willing to share them on Tuesday night.
