Local Biz Owner Celebrates Anniversary With Health and Safety Seminars

Tae kwon do school is hosting event featuring guest speakers

Glen Rock resident and local business owner Gary Stevens will be celebrating 35 years of teaching martial arts in New Jersey with free health and safety seminars in July and August. 

These free events are designed to empower the community with valuable information about self-defense, nutrition, body maintenance and stress relief.

These forty-five minute sessions will be held Tuesdays from 8pm to 8:45 p.m. at .

July 26

Practical Self-Defense

Master Gary Stevens will discuss basic self-defense strategies that will allow you to become more aware of your environment to avoid being the target of an attack.  He will also cover methods on how not to appear like a potential victim and how to identify dangerous situations.

August 2

Nutritional Supplements and Chiropractic Care for Athletes

Master Stevens and special guest Dr. Michael Stewart will explore the benefits of vitamin supplements to improve health and athletic performance along with the advantages of chiropractic care.

August 9

Staying in Top Condition and Avoiding Injury

Physical Therapist Paul Artale joins Master Stevens in a discussion that focuses on maintaining good body conditioning through proper body mechanics and stretching.  The session will also focus on staying injury free during athletic activities such as martial arts.

August 16

Meditation and Other Methods of Stress Relief

Neil Edsall of Naturally Yoga in Glen Rock will discuss the benefits of meditation to relieve stress as well as some simple strategies to diffuse stressful situations in your life.
