Readers' Choice Favorite Frozen Yogurt: Let's Yo

That may change with Ridgewood fro-yo operations opening up within the next month or two.

Ridgewood and Glen Rock frozen yogurt shops , but neither could match , a new self-serve frozen yogurt franchise in Paramus that took home  award.

Let's Yo, which had its grand opening on May 12, carried 72 percent of readers' votes. Ridgewood's (9 percent) and (7 percent) finished second and third, respectively, separated by just three votes. Glen Rock's Jubilate Cafe Corp scored 4 percent of the vote.

From the founder of , Let's Yo blasts customers with a sea of green as they enter the store, located at the Gap Center on Route 17 South.

Green covers the walls, the signs and the iPads at each table. Marcello Petruzzella, who co-owns the Paramus Let's Yo with Russell Rothstein, said the look of the store, coupled with the sound and the experience, is meant to evoke excitement.

The entrance is adorned with velvet rope, and customers are directed to a row of yogurt machines where they can garnish their yogurt with more than 30 toppings, weigh and pay.

Let's Yo separates itself from other fro yo shops by enticing customers to stay and eat. The iPads, free wi-fi and lounge-style furniture make the store a cozy hangout that evokes the vibe of an Apple Store mixed with a Starbucks.

The Paramus store can claim victory for now, but Ridgewood is beginning to corner the fro-yo market, with Red Mango, Crave and rumor has it, a Tasti D-Lite coming into town (all within about 200 feet of one another).
