On Saturday, February 23rd, gather your friends and family for a day that is all about fun and heart health. February is Heart Month, so let’s celebrate by finding new ways to stay active and learn something new in the process!
To Your Health! is a free community health event for all ages. It will be held on Saturday, February 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the gymnasium at Park Ridge High School. Be among the first 100 to arrive and receive a free t-shirt! Sneakers or rubber-soled shoes are recommended.
Presentations and activities will include:
- Line dancing lessons
- A presentation on heart health by cardiologist Benita Burke, M.D.
- A presentation on integrative health by Joseph Hyon, D.O.
- An interactive demonstration by American Eagle Martial Arts
- Yoga with Noreen Hennessy’s Mind Body Connection
- Free Health Screenings
- Information Booths
- Door Prizes!
Special activities for children include The Hallway of Learning for Heart Health, tours of one of Valley’s emergency vehicles, and an agility contest for children ages 9 to 12.
Valley Health System is presenting this free event for all ages in conjunction with Spirit of Women as part of Spirit’s annual Day of Dance for heart health.
