Celebrate the Holidays with the Pops

Glen Rock's Pops perform in a Musical Holiday Celebration.  The program will include a variety of seasonal classical and popular audience-pleasing selections.  The concert is free to the public.

The Pops, an established regional orchestra, was founded in 1975 within the educational offerings of the Glen Rock Community School  This partnership has seen the orchestra grow from a small ensemble, to one which now performs within the northern New Jersey region.  The musicians, from throughout Bergen and Passaic counties, bring together their talents to make the Pops one of the area's favorite listening groups.

The Pops program will include an afternoon of music from a holiday repertoire which includes a version of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas with music and narration.  Other selections are the traditional Viennese favorites Blue Danube Waltz and a rousing rendition of the Radetzky March.  The Festive Sounds of Hanukah and Leroy Anderson's legendary Christmas Festival are also included along with many more traditional and contemporary seasonal selections.

Sean Ryan is Music Director of the Glen Rock Pops.  He is a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers) and currently teaches privately on various instruments and also gives music theory and composition lessons.
