Energy Smart Rock Homes

The Glen Rock Environmental Commission (GREC) would like to
invite all interested persons to a presentation from Ciel Power on the
"Energy Smart Rock Homes" campaign that the mayor and Town Council
recently endorsed.  The presentation is scheduled for Thursday, April 24th
from 730-9pm in the Council Chambers at Borough Hall, Glen Rock.  This initiative
involves a home energy assessment (HEA) by Ciel technicians who gather 250 plus
"data points" on your homes energy use.  The assessment
includes the use of thermographic photography and a home
"depressurization" test which identifies cold spots, drafts, and the
home's "air leakage" rate.  The benefits of an HEA include
greater (and safer) indoor comfort, decreased utilities cost, and a lower
carbon footprint from decreased energy usage.  The financial incentives
under the New Jersey Home Performance with Energy Star Program will also be
explained.  The incentives include up to $5,000 in state rebates and up to
$10,000 financed, interest free, over 10 years.  In addition to
representatives from Ciel Power and the Glen Rock Environmental Commission,
local homeowners who have already had the energy assessment results reported
will be on hand to answer questions and share their report's findings and
recommendations.
