A series of three short films that provide a candid assessment of our nation’s race-based achievement gap taking you into those communities where its effects are most severe to hear what solutions the students, parents, teachers and others living this reality every day have to offer. Discussion during and after the film facilitated by Sally Lewis who worked as a regular education teacher, special education teacher, and learning disabilities teacher consultant in New Jersey school systems. Special guests include Carlene Anderson, a 3rd grade language arts and social studies teacher at New Jersey's Paterson School #12 and Dr. Cary Bell a retired school administrator whose positions included assistant principal at Benjamin Franklin Middle School, Ridgewood, New Jersey.
