The San Francisco Gay Men’s Choir announced Wednesday the upcoming premier of “Tyler’s Suite,” a musical compilation dedicated to Ridgewood native Tyler Clementi, who died tragically in 2010, broadwayworld.com reported.

Nine Broadway and classical composers each crafted a movement for the suite, produced in collaboration with the Tyler Clementi Foundation, according to the report.

The chorus will be “presenting a new set of songs by today’s premier American composers, offering hope and bringing to light the important cultural issues of today through the story of Tyler Clementi,” Timothy Selig, the artistic director, told the website.

Clementi’s suicide in 2010, after he fell victim to online bullying over his sexuality by his Rutgers roommate, sparked national dialogue about LGBT and bullying issues, which the family foundation started in his name has aimed to continue.

The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus was founded 35 years ago after singing at a memorial following the assassination of openly gay city politician Harvey Milk.

Following the March 25 premier, according to the report, other choruses in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Dallas, Seattle and New York City will perform “Tyler’s Suite.”

Will his mom support the Gay Men's Chorus?

Based upon what I've read, his parents are now supportive of Gay issues, and have left the church they belonged to.
