Community Group Launching Campaign for 'Respect'

Community Relations Advisory Board of Ridgewood and Glen Rock looking for businesses to hang posters promoting its mission.

Posters may soon be popping up at businesses around Ridgewood and Glen Rock with a friendly reminder that "courtesy is a first step in preventing bullying, bias acts and violence."

The Community Relations Advisory Board of Ridgewood and Glen Rock is hoping that merchants around the will hang posters in their stores titled “Respect, Give it to Get it.”

The posters, created by New York City graphic design artist Paul Grillo with input from CRAB and Ridgewood High School students, were unveiled last Wednesday and will be distributed to interested stores in the coming month, Rev. Jan Philips said.

The poster highlights the board’s work, which involves hearing concerns from area residents and workers who have experienced or witnessed bias due to race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. The group meets once a month.
