A Weekend Guide for great family events happening in the area.

You’ve almost made it to the weekend!  Now what?  Take a look at all of the fun things we found going on around the area.  Wyckoff Day, Fathers Day Crafts, Farmers Markets and more!

FRIDAY: 
Gymnastics Open Workout 
This open workout is designed to let preschoolers explore the gym and practice their gymnastics skills in an unstructured environment, at their own pace and comfort level. The sessions are supervised and safe. 
Where: U.S. Gymnastics, Mahwah
When: Friday, June 8 | 1:00PM – 3:00PM 
Cost: $15.00 

DARE Festival 
This family friendly festival includes tons of fun amusement rides, games, tasty treats, and even a petting zoo. Proceeds benefit local and statewide DARE efforts…a great cause. T he Carnival in Paramus runs from May 31st through June 10th, opening at 5:00 PM Monday – Friday and 12:00 noon on weekends. 
Where: Garden State Plaza, Paramus 
When: Friday, June 8 | 5:00PM – 10:00PM 
Cost: $20.00 unlimited ride wristband, $10.00 half price ride tickets (available online) 

SATURDAY: 
World Ocean’s Day Celebration
Give your kids a little science lesson this Saturday at Pottery Barn Kids. Kids ages 3 & older are invited to stop by for some hands-on activities, quizzes, songs and more, all exploring dolphins, whales and other marine life. 
Where: Pottery Barn Kids, Hackensack 
When: Saturday, June 9 | 10:00AM – 12:00PM

Fathers Day Frame
Get a head start on those Fathers Day Gifts!  Grab the kids and head over to your local Michael's Craft Store and make a cute frame! Have your kids add a picture and this handmade gift will put a smile on Dad's face!
Where:  Michaels, Ramsey or Paramus
When:  Saturday, June 9  |  10:00AM - 12:00PM
Cost:  cost of frame, supplies to decorate are free

NYC Ballet’s Children’s Workshop 
Make your little ballerina’s dreams come true with a day at the New York City Ballet’s Children’s Workshop. The workshop consists of a 45-minute pre-performance movement session for children ages 5 - 7. Your child will join the artists of the New York City Ballet in an exploration of the music, movement and themes of a ballet featured in the matinee performance later that day. Afterwards, you may attend the 2:00 PM matinee performance, which your Prima Ballerina is sure to appreciate even more!

Gymnastics Open Workout 
Kids 5 years of age and older can practice their gymnastics skills in a supervised, but unstructured environment. They are free to move around the gym from area to area at their own pace.

Wyckoff Family Day
Come out and celebrate at Wyckoff Day!  Games, rides, crafts, vendors, and more!  It all takes place on the Y's 14 acre campus.  There will be shuttles available because a crowd is expected.  Come out and celebrate why Wyckoff is loved so much.

Family Scavenger Hunt 
A hunting you will go this Saturday at TNC’s fun Family Scavenger Hunt. After being given clues, you and your family will need to work together as a team to solve nature riddles along the trails of TNC. What a great way to bond and spend some fun, quality time together. This event requires pre-registration, and is best for ages 4 & older. 
Where: Tenafly Nature Center, Tenafly 
When: Saturday, June 9 | 2:00PM – 4:00PM 
Cost: $5.00 members ($20 family max), $10.00 non-members($30.00 family max)

Nature Day at TNC 
Celebrate the coming of summer at Nature Day this Sunday at Tenafly Nature Center. Your kiddos will enjoy canoe rides, trail explorations, storytelling, games, crafts, face painting, surprise visits from some live animals and so much more!

When: Sunday, June 10 | 11:00AM – 4:00PM 
Cost: FREE for members, $8.00 for non-members

Ramsey Farmers Market
It's opening day at the Ramseys Farmers Market.  Shop the local produce, prepared foods and crafts every Sunday til November.  Stop by the Childrens Activities tent and have your kids make a craft with Miss Lorraine while you shop the market!
Where:  Ramsey Train Station
When:  Sunday, June 10  |  1:00PM - 3:00PM
Cost:  Childrens Activities are Free
