Alleged Break-ins Reported

Police blotter Jan. 5 to 11.

A Hopper Avenue resident reported that when returning home Jan. 5 at 7 p.m., it was found burglarized. The home was entered through the rear door by breaking a small pane of glass and unlocking the door, police said. The bedrooms were ransacked, and jewelry and cash were taken. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau with the assistance of the Bergen County Sheriff's Department BCI. Police would like to remind residents to contact the police if they see any suspicious activity in their neighborhood.

A West New York resident reported missing items stored in a relative's garage. For a time, she stored appliances in a relative's garage on Doremus Avenue. When she went to retrieve them she found them missing Jan. 8. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.

A South Irving Resident reported that an unknown person had knocked over her lamppost during the night of Jan. 9. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.

A village resident reported Jan. 11 that in May 2008 an unknown person opened a credit card in her name and made multiple charges. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.

An Elmwood Park resident reported Jan. 11 that she had received a gift card for Daniards Salon for Christmas that was purchased on December 12, 2009. However, she learned that the business closed December 31, 2009. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.
